About the Teacher

Ms Gwendolyn
Professional Piano Instructor (UK)
Ms Gwendolyn is a highly experienced piano teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience in both the UK and overseas. Before moving to the UK in 2005, she was already actively teaching piano to children in Malaysia.
She later graduated from Thames Valley University (UK) and has since dedicated her career to piano education in the UK.
Her teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations, musical understanding, and performance confidence. She has successfully guided many students from beginner level through to ABRSM Grade 8.
Many of her students consistently achieve Distinction in ABRSM examinations.

A Proven Musical Pathway
Ms Gwendolyn’s own children have progressed to leading UK conservatoires:
• Ziwei Wang-Royal College of Music (RCM)
• Zilin Wang-Royal Academy of Music (RAM)
Both have been supported by institutional funding awards.
Her son (currently 17) has achieved the FRSM (Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music), one of the highest-level qualifications in the ABRSM system, equivalent to advanced, degree-level performance.
He is therefore also able to support and guide students studying at diploma level and beyond Grade 8.

What Parents & Students Say:
"For the past six years, the teacher has been by the children’s side as they have grown step by step, from their initial entry into the world of piano to their ability to play with confidence. Her patience and dedication have been essential in this process. She has not only taught the children how to play the piano but also instilled in them perseverance, concentration, and a love for music. As parents, we feel extremely reassured and grateful. It is truly a blessing to have come across such a dedicated and caring teacher." - Meili Chen, parent of grade 7 and grade 8.
"As a student, I feel that I have made a substantial amount of progress in music, throughout my years of studying piano. Her teaching is always understandable and I appreciate her advice. I owe my results to her outstanding teaching and resilience in sticking with me throughout my musical journey; growing up playing piano has always been enjoyable because of her patient coaching, and I continue to enjoy piano as I progress." - Ethan Guo, started from a beginner and is currently about to complete grade 8.
"I’ve done the lessons for a year, and I got my grade three distinction. I am now in grade four. I enjoy the lessons and always look forward to them!" - Sochima Uchendu, student, grade four.
